FBC Ministries

First Baptist Offers a variety of Ministries and Missions opportunities that we hope will motivate everyone to become involved in our community.

Prison Visitor Center - On the third weekend  of the month, a group meets at the Visitor's Center of Garza East Prison at 8:00 in the morning to provide love and support and whatever else they can to the families of inmates.  For more information, contact the church office.

South Texas Children's Home Ministries (STCHM) - In 1952 Laura Boothe Overby shared a vision she had for an "orphans' home" with her pastor, Rev. Jess Lunsford.  With Laura's land, Jess' leadership, and God's plan, a ministry was birthed in rural Bee  County - a ministry that would become home to thousands of children over the next-half-century and beyond. Food Distribution - This is a food distribution ministry on the fourth Saturday of the month.  At 8:00 in the CAC (Christian Activities Center), a short worship service is held followed by distribution of food provided by the Corpus Christi Food Bank.  For more information, contact the church office.

Angel Tree - Christmas gifts can be donated through the church to be given to the children of inmates.  For more information, contact Lionel and Sylvia Edmonson.

Nursing Home Ministry - "Spring Season's Beauty Shop" Hair Dressing at Woodridge Nursing Home 8:00 to 11:30 on Fridays.  Women (or Men) are wanted to help with this ministry.  No License Required.  For more information, contact Sandra Downs.

Georgia Garvey also does a Bible Study at Hacienda Oaks Nursing Home.

Nancy Traylor holds a Bible Study at 801 Gramman on Monday afternoons.

Partnership Mission in Nuevo Laredo -

Crossover Ministries - Designed as a ministry for women and children, the purpose of this ministry is to allow women a means to alter their lives and learn professional skills while contemporaneously developing biblical principles for their daily lives.  For more information, contact the church office.

WMU / WOM - Women on Mission meets every first Thursday of the month at 9:30 a.m. in the Christian Activity Center.  There is a short but thorough Bible study. For more information, contact the church office.

 Youth and Young Adult:

    Youth - The FBC youth group meets on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights and also at various other times during the week.  Special events are scheduled all during the summer and also at various times during the school year.  For more information about the FBC youth group, visit the youth page.

    BSM - Meals are provided occasionally for students at Coastal Bend College.  Georgia Garvey leads this ministry.

Children's Ministries:            

     CIA (Children In Action) - Missions and Music are some of the many things that kids grade 1-6 will experience at CIA.  Wednesdays at 6:15 .  

    VBS - Vacation Bible School is a fun way for children to learn about God and grow in their faith.  VBS is held during one week of the summer in the evenings.

    FBCS - Private school: Pre-K 4 through Grade 6.  We provide a Christian-based curriculum combined with a nurturing environment and excellent education.  For more information about the school, contact the church office or visit the FBCS website at beeville.net.

Music Ministries:

    Adult Choir - Sunday Morning Choir.  New faces are always welcome.  Practice is on Wednesday  @ 7:30 pm

    FBI - First Baptist Instrumentalists provide instrumental music for Sunday Morning worship.  New people are always needed.  Practices are held on Sunday mornings @ 9:00 am

Prayer and Bible Study:

     Women's Prayer Group - A prayer and praise meeting for Women that meets on Tuesdays at 8:45 in the Parlor. This group will not meet during the summer months.

    Women's Bible Study - Led by Betty Bleeker, this Bible study is intended for Women and starts at 9:30 on Tuesdays in the Education Building.

    Business Women's Bible Study / Lunch  - Be refreshed spiritually as well as bodily at noon in the C.A.C. on the second Wednesday during months of September through May.

Fall Festival - Come spend October 31st with us at our Fall Festival.  There are fun events, activities, and food for the whole family including lots of treats for the kids.  Our free alternative to Trick-or-Treating.
